Please be sure to include documentation with anything you send us. There should be a work order form in the box. Either download this from the forms page, or call and ask the Service Writer to email one to you. If you are already in our system, the form he sends you will have some of the information already filled out for you. In that case, please make any corrections/updates appropriate, scan & email or fax the form back to the Service Writer, and put the hard copy in the crate with your engine/component. If the mailing address we have on record for you is different from the shipping address for the engine, please state that and include the shipping address with the documentation.
If you are sending an engine, please make sure you have put the engine log book in the crate with the engine. We cannot begin work on your project until we have that logbook. It is also wise to put the logbook into a Ziploc bag or some other water/oil proof container to protect it.
When shipping an engine or other large components to Lockwood Aviation Repair, we recommend you ship via R&L Carriers (www.rlcarriers.com, 800-543-5589). If you use R&L send the shipment Freight Collect to:
Lockwood Aviation Repair
1 Lockwood Lane
Sebring FL 33870
We will bill you for the shipment on the invoice along with the work you are having done, and you will enjoy our discount on the shipping fee – which is substantial.
Please be sure all fluids are drained from the engine, and that the engine is properly secured in its crate. We cannot take responsibility for damage that is done in transit.
